So for our second Dyke Movie Nite, we are leaning into peak seasonal sapphic drama…
CAROL (2015)
Set in 1950s New York during the Christmas season, Carol is a slow-burn, longing-filled, perfectly gloved romance starring Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara exchanging looks that could shatter glass. Fur coats, forbidden desire, department store flirting, and yearning so intense it should come with a warning label. Is it festive? Technically. Is it devastating? Absolutely. Did you vote for it? Overwhelmingly, yes.
It may be the holidays, but the gay agenda never takes time off. Come cuddle up, cry a little, whisper “oh my god” to your friends, and celebrate the season the Dyke Nite way.
